Our Child Safe Commitment

Youthrive is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation

Youthrive is committed to the protection of children’s human and legal rights to be safe, heard and cared for. Youthrive is a social enterprise with the purpose of improving the lives of as many kids and young people as possible. Through evidence-based therapy we empower families and equip kids and young people with the skills they need to thrive.

Youthrive prioritises the safety of children and young people and will not tolerate child abuse and harm.  If our team members become aware that a child or young person is at risk of, or experiencing, harm we talk openly to families about our worries and work with protective caregivers to respond to and plan for safety. If we are really worried about a child’s safety, we will also report our concerns to the relevant child protection authority, however where possible, these reports are made in partnership with families to ensure the best outcomes for kids.

At Youthrive, we comply with the Queensland Child Safe Standards, including the Universal Principle for Cultural Safety.  These standards are a minimum set of requirements to ensure that children’s voices are heard and prioritised, their safety and wellbeing is promoted, child harm is prevented and allegations of child harm are properly responded to.  In promoting and upholding the right to cultural safety Youthrive is committed to ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families feel welcome, safe, valued, included and respected.

If you have concerns that a child is at risk of significant harm as a result of abuse or neglect, please report to your state or territory’s Child Protection agency.

Our service creates a stable and growing source of revenue for Act for Kids, a for-purpose organisation dedicated to supporting children and families who have experienced or are at risk of harm.
