Biography
Val is a registered psychologist with a special interest in clinical and developmental psychology. Val offers a broad range of assessments and treatments for children, adolescents, parents and families. She has many years of experience working with a variety of disorders and challenges.
“I wanted to become a Psychologist because it is rewarding, interesting and I am passionate about helping others during some of their most challenging times and making a difference in their lives.”
Qualification
Val is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and has a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology and Master of Science with a dual concentration in Research and Applied Psychology.
Experience
Her areas of special interest include anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), parenting support, developmental delays, behavioural difficulties, grief/loss, trauma, abuse, self-esteem, social skills, women’s issues, and adjustment/coping difficulties.
Val has experience working in client support, university lecturing, and research. She has presented at national and international conferences, and been published in national and international journals.
