Biography
Mel is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Being a mother of two children with developmental difficulties, Mel has developed a lifelong passion for working with and supporting young people and their families who may be experiencing developmental and mental health challenges.
“I have a keen interest and experience in the assessment and intervention of developmental disorders such as ADHD and ASD. I have experience and interest in a range of psycho educational assessments – including cognitive, learning, and full developmental (ASD and ADHD) assessments.”
Mel also has a keen interest and experience in working with adolescents and pre-teens experiencing anxiety, challenges with confidence and self-esteem and difficulties with transitional periods. She is enthusiastic about supporting and including families within the process of providing therapy for their child/adolescent by providing parenting support both in private sessions and through the provision of parenting programs. She is passionate about facilitating evidenced based group programs that center on fostering coping strategies and social skills in young people.
