“Childhood is such a special thing and something that we only get one shot at. I became a psychologist to help develop the quality of life in our young people so that their childhood can be enjoyed. Happy and secure childhoods often lead to happy and secure adult lives. I strongly believe that we can create positive change in our community by providing our young people with the best possible start in life. For me, being a psychologist is a way of giving back to a community which has given me so much.”

Kelly has a Bachelor of Exercise Science, a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours and a Doctorate of Psychology (Clinical). Kelly is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) and is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Experience

Kelly also has extensive experience in providing support to parents and has published several articles for families outlining strategies to support a range of presenting concerns.

“It is a privilege to work as a psychologist. As a psychologist, you have the opportunity of sharing a unique relationship with the people with whom you work. The people that you come across share very intimate parts of their lives that they may not have shared with anyone else. It is an opportunity to allow people to identify and share their true selves. I am passionate about helping people to discover their true needs/ambitions and to find happiness within themselves.

In addition, I am passionate about supporting other psychologists to further develop their skills within the profession. I was very fortunate to work under the guidance of some very talented supervisors during my training. Providing supervision and support to my colleagues and peers, is an opportunity to give back to the profession, while also indirectly providing further support for the community.”
