“Childhood is such a special thing and something that we only get one shot at. I became a psychologist to help develop the quality of life in our young people so that their childhood can be enjoyed. Happy and secure childhoods often lead to happy and secure adult lives. I strongly believe that we can create positive change in our community by providing our young people with the best possible start in life. For me, being a psychologist is a way of giving back to a community which has given me so much.”
Kelly has a Bachelor of Exercise Science, a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours and a Doctorate of Psychology (Clinical). Kelly is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) and is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
The focus of Kelly’s doctoral research was providing emotional support and reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression for young people who had been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Kelly also has extensive experience in providing support to parents and has published several articles for families outlining strategies to support a range of presenting concerns.
